Confrontation with Blisternose results in some wounds both physical and emotional.
Blisternose has made it clear that he has no intention of stopping the drumming. Angered by the party’s influence on his people, he attacks Rou. Arthas and Eight are quick to respond when their friend collapses to the ground, the other goblins left in a state of shock and confusion.
Rou’s wolf form emerges, resulting in the goblins running away in fear. Blisternose is left to deal with the trio alone, who let him escape with his life. After he leaves, the party is forced to deal with the consequences of their interference.

Upbeat piano intro ends[00:28]
Tense piano music fades in [00:31]
Kappa (as Rou): Hello! This is Rou, and you’re listening to Roads Uncharted. Last episode, we found the source of the drumming. Over a rocky outcrop, which by the way, is very steep. Very dangerous. We came across a little green man, Griswold. Very promisingly brought us to a cave with a lot of other strange, mysterious green men. But, good news. We did find the source of the drumming, and upon entering, they all stopped. It was very creepy. They all stared at us. Now, there was one particular person sitting on a throne, it was a ghastly individual we later learned is named Blisternose. And so we’re trying to seek a compromise, get them to stop drumming.
Turns out, the drumming was to keep the spirits away, and we offered to get rid of the spirits! So they can stop drumming, the people in the village can go to sleep after a whole week. But something tells me that Blisternose is not amenable to that idea as he is poised to attack. And that’s what happened. You're caught up.
Dax: I would like everybody to roll me Cool please, no difficulty.
[dice rolls]
Kappa: One Success, one Advantage.
Neil: A wash.
Wren: Two Advantages.
Dax: Okay! So here’s the fun thing. All the NPC groups get to go and then all the PC groups get to go.
Kappa: Love it.
Dax: Alright. So as I said, Blisternose, you have watched as his arm muscles have enlarged and his eyes have enlarged and turned this bloody red color. So there is no white left in his eyes. You watched as his fangs elongate, his claws elongate, spines grow out of his back. He lunges forward and takes a swipe at the closest person, Rou.
Kappa: That makes sense, I’m the one that talks the most, so, yeah.
Dax: [laughs] Yeah, it would make sense I guess, a little bit. So he’s going to lunge forward and swipe from left to right at you with these elongated claws.
[Kappa grunts, imitating a dodge]
Kappa: Can I dodge?
Dax: You gonna dodge?
Kappa: Yes.
Dax: Okay. And remind me what Dodge does again?
Kappa: So I can take Strain to increase the difficulty of a combat check against me.
Dax: Okay.
Kappa: So I’m spending just a single Strain.
Dax: That works in your advantage, so now it is only two Success that is left over from his attack. That’ll be eleven Wounds.
Kappa: Eleven Wounds.
Dax: Before Soak.
Kappa: Great. I have one Soak.
Dax: You feel these claws swipe through the front of your shirt, and as you feel those claws scrape across your skin, you feel this immense pain in your chest. You’re going to be Immobilized for one round. You’re going to have to make a Hard Athletics check to bust out.
Kappa: Okay. Am I Incapacitated if the wounds exceed my threshold?
Dax: Yeah.
Kappa: Okay.
Wren: And I believe you take a Critical Hit Roll as well.
Dax: Yes.
Kappa: Oh, fun.
Dax: Yeah. So, roll me a d100.
[dice rolls]
Kappa: Okay. Twenty-nine.
Dax: Alright. So, Discouraging Wound. So one of your player points is going to go into my GM story point. So it actually is not terrible. All things considered what could have happened off this table. You’re Immobilized, and have, have we exceeded your threshold, Rou?
Kappa: Yes, my threshold is dangerously low.
Dax: Okay! Then yeah, you’re.. you’re going to be Incapacitated.
Kappa: Okay. When I am Incapacitated, I can’t control it.
Dax: Mhmmm.
Kappa: And the wolf comes out.
Dax: Yep.
Kappa: So, how does that, how does, how should I describe this? Do you, do I, do you want, do we want to have me drop down and then come back as a wolf? Or…?
Dax: That is, I am gonna leave that up to you.
Kappa: Okay. I’ll say I’m Incapacitated, Rou drops down to the floor.
Dax: With that, a group of Goblins, seeing their leader lash out. You immediately hear,
Dax (as Goblins): [high-pitched voice] Attack!
Dax: And they draw little daggers out and they’re actually going to go after you, Eight. You seem much smaller and less of a threat than, than big scary Arthas. Rightly so. [chuckles] Alright, so they are going to attack and -
Wren: They need to add two Setbacks because of my melee defense.
Dax: Yep.
Wren: And I will also spend a Strain to upgrade their check once.
Dax: I mean, sure, yeah. They attack, but then, so, you hear,
Dax (as Goblins): Attack!
Dax: You hear this sound of metal clearing leather as these little daggers clear their scabbards. And then you hear nothing. You watch as these Goblins are frozen, trying to decide ‘is this something really, we really want to do?’ Another group of Goblins tries to do the same, you hear,
Dax (as Goblins): [hesitatingly] Yeah, yeah. Attack...
Dax: I’m actually going to apply your Strain to this group, only because the other one was bad. I would feel bad making you spend Strain to upgrade a difficulty on a check that wasn’t going to get them any.
Wren: Whatever you want to do, GM.
Dax: Well, I feel it’s only fair if you’re gonna spend Strains. Especially since Strain is so precious for you.
Wren: [whispers] So precious.
[dice rolls]
Dax: Oh that’s horrible. Okay, so you hear,
Dax (as Goblins): Yeah, yeah. Attack!
Dax: And they draw their weapons and then you hear,
Dax (as one Goblin): Wait, what, why are we attacking? They didn’t attack us first.
Dax (as another Goblin): Yeah, you’re right. They didn’t attack.
Dax: They’re basically immobilized in their fear, and also stand there in shock. Now we have all three PC slots. Who would like to go?
Wren: Arthas, would you like to do a thing?
Neil: Sure. How close is the boss Goblin?
Dax: You’re in, you’re in engaged.
Neil: I would like to start Battle Rage, so I’ll add a Setback to my check to add two damage. And I’m going to club him. And as a refresher, it’s been a moment since I’ve swung, what difficulty is this at?
Dax: Go ahead and make it Medium difficulty.
[dice rolls]
Neil: Four Successes and a Threat.
Dax: So, that’s four plus your Brawn is what? You’re four Brawn? So that’s eight, and then whatever the base damage is.
Neil: Damage is plus four.
Dax: Okay. So, that’s twelve. So that’ll be nine points. Nine Wounds.
Neil: And it’s a Pierce Two and Vicious One if that does anything.
Dax: Oh yeah. Alright, what does this look like, Arthas?
Neil: After I see him hit Rou, it’s really just me trying to club him. There’s not a lot of artistry, clubbing someone. It’s me just going ‘oh that’s unfortunate’, and then just on his head.
Dax: You do so and you hear a sickening crack. You watch as now Blisternose’s face is bloody. You watch as there’s blood dripping over the fangs. You watch as he spits out a couple of teeth.
Neil: Neat!
Dax: Anything else?
Neil: I don’t think there’s much else I can do.
Dax: Alright. Next PC slot.
Wren: Rou, would you like to go now or after I do?
Kappa: Uh, if you have something, you should take it first.
Wren: I don’t really have anything, but I also didn’t know if you wanted to, like, save your transformation for after.
Kappa: Oh! I’m, uh, no, that’s fine. We’ve already, we’ve already revealed the transformation so, this’ll be the first one of this season. Uh, yeah! I’ll say, I’ll say I can go last. I can, I can go last for the PC slots.
Wren: Seeing all the little Goblins have drawn weapons and, and screamed ‘attack’, and subsequently just been like ‘what the heck are we doing?’. Dax, retroactively, the two Advantages I had on the Initiative check, can I spend them to pop out Meat Tenderizer? So, I’ve drawn my weapon and I look to the Goblins and I say to them,
Wren (as Eight): Small green friends. We are not your enemies. In fact, we have offered a perfectly amicable solution to the problem you all face, and your leader has chosen violence over reason. In this instance, I would implore you all to stand down from attack as we work out this dispute with your purported throne-sitting ruler. And then, we can work on coming up with a solution as a group once this is resolved.
Wren: And yes, I am attempting to ask the little Goblins to not fight.
Dax: Can you Charm check? Give it to me at Medium difficulty, please, but give yourself a Boost. The Goblins have seen what Arthas has already done to their leader.
Wren: Charm, charm, charm, with a Boost. I’m going to spend a Story Point and upgrade this because I do not want to start thrashing these poor little green people who are only doing what Blisternose has told them to do. [dice roll] And it did not help. I have two Advantage and a Failure.
Dax: So you fail with style. So what does this look like?
Wren: I think I only further sow confusion into their heads with this line of discourse, and perhaps they all start squabbling a little bit. Maybe they take another turn to, to really get going. But, I don’t know. I just, I just feel like they all start arguing with each other over whether they should fight or not. Because it sounded like some of them were like ‘uh he’s been making us drum and this only started when he started being ruler’. I feel like the Goblins at this point would just not know what to do as a collective.
Dax: That’s fair. I think that, I think that’s a good narrative description for that. That’s good. Anything else?
Wren: Ummm, I will move forward into combat with Blisternose because poor Friend Rou has been completely destroyed. I’m, I’m, I’m going to interpose myself between the two.
Dax: And with that, Rou.
Kappa: So I’m a heap of defeated mess on the floor. Face down, head sort of tilted to the side. Something strange starts to happen. As the chaos starts to ensue, Rou’s limbs and muscles start to grow and elongate. There’s a crack of the bones and fur starts to sprout all over his skin. He fills out in his oversized armor once again, still passed out. The image, the visage of a wolf now lays on the floor, eyes closed. But once the transformation is complete, the hair fully grown, the breathing regulates. The eyes snap wide open, golden eyes, and Rou, in his wolf form, scrambles to his feet.
[Kappa grunts]
Kappa (as Rou): [deeper pitched voice] That was very rude. We come here to try and be diplomatic.
Kappa: As I grab a tiny drum and throw it past the Goblin king’s ear.
Kappa (as Rou): And look, you ruined my favorite shirt!
Kappa: That’s the action I want to take, I don’t, I don’t want to do any violence. I am very much trying to hold back as this hulking figure sort of rises above Eight, from behind Eight and throws a drum further into the tunnel. Into the, into the cavern.
Dax: So that is top of the round. The [chuckles] the first group of Goblins that had originally drawn their daggers and then paused, you all hear,
Dax (as the Goblins): [gasps, audio duplicated] Run!
Dax: And you hear the sound of all these little Goblin feet booking it out of the cave. The other group of Goblins kind of follow suit, immediately they start scrambling. There’s mass chaos as all these little Goblins are trying to escape from the cavern at the sight of this person that was supposed to be a human is now this giant massive wolf in front of them. Blisternose, you can see even in his pupil-less eyes, looks terrified. Every muscle on his face says fear. Battered and bruised and torn apart as he is, he lunges for you, Rou.
Kappa: Oooooh..
Dax: Grabs onto you and attempts to sink his fangs into your flesh.
Kappa: I don’t like that.
Dax: Rou, your Soak is what again?
Kappa: It goes up to two.
Dax: So Blisternose lunges at you and you feel these massive hands and claws gripping onto your shoulder. You feel his face nuzzling up against your neck and you can feel like pressure on his shoulder, like he’s trying to bite in but there’s something about your wolf hide that is preventing his fangs from piercing in. Alright. Who’s up?
Kappa: I want to get this Goblin off of me. And so I am going to grab Blisternose and attempt to yank Blisternose off my shoulder and just cast him onto the ground in front of me.
Dax: Give me a Brawl check for that. Give it to me one purple, one red.
[dice rolls]
Kappa: Okay. That is three Threat, two Success, one Triumph.
Dax: You are definitely able to throw this Goblin king off of you and cast him aside. What would you like to use your Triumph for?
Kappa: I would like to use my Triumph to make the ease at which I was able to remove the Goblin off of me and onto, throw him on the floor, be more intimidating than agitating. If that makes sense. To help aid in what I’m going to do next.
Dax: Sounds fine to me. And I’ll be reserving your Threats for something during the encounter if it comes up.
Kappa (as Rou): [grunts] I’m going to give you one last chance. You cease this drumming or this can be a very, very messy end.
Kappa: Can I also destroy one more drum? Just step on it.
Dax: Why not?
Kappa: Great.
Dax: These are tiny little drums, they’re all scattered about your feet. Sure, why not.
Wren: I imagine that Blisternose has been tossed off of Rou, basically over my shoulder almost. So as I’m just kind of standing there, I’ve watched, I’ve watched Blisternose go flying to attack something behind me. Like, I’ve.. I’ve got my hammer ready, my meat tenderizer ready, expecting that he was going to go attack me. And then, as I turn, I just see that he’s biting into the wolf form of Rou, and I just go,
Wren (as Eight): Oh. Oh. This is, yes. Get him Friend Rou! Get that Blisternose!
Wren: And then seeing him get tossed and hearing your quip and you stomping on the drum, I just go,
Wren (as Eight): Oh, oh. Yes, we’re doing aggressive negotiations right now. This makes sense. He’s been very, very angry, has not listened to reason. I am going to embrace this.
Wren: And I will turn, holding my hammer back, as I kind of step towards Blisternose slowly advancing, menacingly.
Wren (as Eight): Yes. You and your people shall cease your witless drumming this instant. And you shall allow us to solve your spirit problem. Unless there is no spirit problem and you are just using this to wear down and tire out your own people. In which case you are a tyrant. And that would be a different problem entirely. Regardless, I will not hesitate to hammer you if you do not agree to these terms. What say you?
Dax: Okay, so that’s your Incidental. Any Maneuvers or Actions on your turn?
Wren: Maneuver is just to like, keep moving towards him.
Dax: Okay.
Wren: And Action is, I guess, I’m also trying to convince him to stop being a butt if he’ll even listen?
Dax: Since you have a hammer drawn, give me a Coercion check. One purple, one red.
Wren: Coercion is Willpower. I’m actually good at this. Why am I good at this? Why do I have two ranks in Coercion?
[Kappa laughs and dice roll]
Dax: I don’t know, why are you good at this? The mysteries of Eight.
Wren: Goddamn!
Dax: Explicit content.
Wren: Oh wait, no. Not goddamn, I thought it was a, I had a Success and I have an Advantage. I’d like to recover my Strain if I will.
Dax: Yeah. Yeah, that’s fair.
Wren: Because Friend Rou is not dead and that makes me feel good. But also Friend Rou is an aggressive wolf man right now, and that makes me feel a little less good, but it’s better than him being dead.
Dax: That’s fair. So with that, the creature kind of stands up, wipes their long arm across their face. You watch as a streak of blood gets wiped off. Sticks out this very long black tongue and wipes it over its fangs.
Dax (as Blisternose): [deep, gravelly voice] Fine! If you want them, you can have them!
Dax: Gets down on all fours and skitters out of the cavern. So he’s going to use his Maneuver to get towards the entrance of the cavern, and unless anybody, Arthas, tries to stop him, he will leave.
Neil: Nah. I don’t feel good trying to hit someone that’s skittering.
Dax: I think that’s fair. It’s very noble. It’s like attacking somebody when their back is turned.
Neil: Yeah.
Dax: Alright friends, what do the three of you do now?
Neil (as Arthas): Mission accomplished. For real this time.
Music shifts to a sad, ominous tune [20:15]
Wren: What are the other Goblins doing?
Dax: They left.
Wren: Everyone left?
Dax: Everyone left. Y’all are alone in this cavern with a bunch of drums on the floor and a wolf.
Neil: I’m going to explore the cave for anything weird.
Kappa: Yeah, I’m going to pick up another drum and smash it against a wall.
Kappa (as Rou): That is not how I wanted this to go. Ugh!
Wren (as Eight): An excellent plan, Friend Rou. If we destroy the drums, there can be no drumming.
Wren: And I’ll just start stomping around as I’m trying to break the drums as well.
Wren (as Eight): We have won, Friend Rou. You can stop being a wolf now.
Kappa (as Rou): It’s not that simple, Eight. I need to tire myself out.
Kappa: And I don’t, I could, I could try and revert back. It’s a very hard Discipline check though. But yeah no, seeing as Eight has made the request, I will at least try and…
Dax: Mhmm.
Kappa: You hear me start to again try and calm my breathing down.
[Kappa does some heavy breathing in the deeper voice]
Kappa: As I try to let the human spirit take back over.
Dax: Sure. And while you do that, Arthas, give me a Perception check at, eh, Easy difficulty.
[dice roll]
Neil: One Success and two Advantages.
Dax: You find food stuffs, you find a little bit of coinage, and you find what appears to be a bag full of pipe tobacco.
Neil (as Arthas): Score! But not for me.
Dax: The Goblins really don’t have much.
Neil: I was more worried about any weird unearthed idols.
Dax: Oh! Nope, nothing, nothing that, you know, you can see that is strange or indicates that they have a, you know, anything that would be concerning.
Neil: Okay. Cool.
Dax: Rou, how did your Discipline check go?
[dice roll]
Kappa: One Failure and three Threat. So, as I try and calm down my breathing, all I can feel is the frustration of diplomacy failing and not wanting to give into violent instinct and still failing at that. So, it’s just Rou is just having a, having a lot of trouble and you see, you see me just shake my head as I try and calm down my breathing.
Kappa (as Rou): Useless! I’m sorry you need to see me like this, Eight. Arthas.
Neil (as Arthas): It’s fine. I’ve seen worse.
Wren (as Eight): I have already seen you in this form. So, it is not that unsettling.
Kappa (as Rou): [grunts] Thank you friends. What happened to the Goblins?
Wren (as Eight): The Goblins have all retreated from the cavern.
Kappa (as Rou): Well, good.
Wren (as Eight): And it seems that you were instrumental in convincing their leader that the chosen course of action was not the appropriate one. And he has fled from the caves, or deeper into the caves? I’m not really sure how it works at this point.
Kappa: Going to find a corner of the cavern and just sit down and just try and calm down and revert back. I’m going to ask,
Kappa (as Rou): You think he’ll be back? Should we, and by we, I mean one of you two, bring them back? I do not wish to displace them.
Neil (as Arthas): I don’t think they’ll be gone forever.
Wren: I will shake my head in agreement.
Wren (as Eight): Yes, I believe Friend Arthas has it correct. I would think that the Goblins have just retreated until they’re certain that their living space has been cleared of any and all threats. Once we are able, I believe leaving would be in our best interests.
Kappa (as Rou): Okay. Good. Please let me catch my breath.
Wren (as Eight): Though, I am loathe with the way things played out, at least no one has suffered any irreparable harm.
Kappa: Can I do the check again? Is that, is that something I can, okay cool. I didn’t know if it was like a once per day thing.
Dax: No, as long as it doesn’t specify, you’re good.
Kappa: I don’t think it is. [dice roll] Okay, better! One Success, two Threat. I’m rolling a lot of Threat this time around. The double Threat keeps coming up on my dice.
Dax: Y’all should have seen the dice for all my NPCs. Yeah, so describe what this Success feels like and looks like to the group.
Kappa: So sitting down, I am just going to close my eyes and just continue breathing in deep, and thinking of all the times that stuff like diplomacy and kindness and stuff has actually worked out in our favor in the face of violence or, or threats or whatever. And just trying to stay in that space. The breathing eventually goes, if you’re in the cavern and still searching and investigating, inspecting, eventually the breathing goes from that very, that very deep growly mess to something that you’re more familiar with from Rou.
[Kappa imitates growly breathing evening out]
Kappa: I think Rou will stay in that state until approached otherwise.
Dax: How long do the group of you stay in the cavern?
Neil: We probably get out of there after the Goblins left and Rou is back to normal.
Wren: Yeah. Similar, but I’m also not rushing Rou because I, I know how -
Kappa: Yeah.
Wren: He feels about all of this and how it, how tiring it is for him because I remember I had to basically act as a walking crutch for him when he had transformed back at Westbridge.
Kappa: Mhmm.
Wren: And I suppose while he’s calming down, I’m just kind of poking around. Taking a look at the drums, maybe stacking them in a little pile. Looking for a place where maybe these Goblins were living or sleeping. Because if this is like their, their home, I expect that there would be more than just a throne and -
Dax: Yeah, the tunnels that I had mentioned. If you had, Arthas had already explored some of those and as the group of you are continuing to explore, you find other tunnels do lead to like, living quarters and kitchens and stuff like that. This is just the main room. There are all the little offshoots, this is their home, this cavern.
Wren: Okay. Yeah, so just, just being nosy.
Dax: Yeah.
Kappa: After a few minutes, I’ll sit outside of the cave, leaving the tunnel. Just outside, get some fresh air. Signify that I’m ready to leave, to head back.
Music shifts to a gentle piano [27:44]
Dax: Heading back to the village, once you clear the outcropping, you do see Griswold sitting there. When he sees the three of you climbing back over on the other side,
Dax (as Griswold): [high-pitched, nasally voice] Is it, uh, safe to go back in? Are you, uh…
Dax: He looks at you, Rou.
Dax (as Griswold): You done with whatever you were doing, and…
Dax: Kind of gestures a hand at you.
Kappa (as Rou): [normal voice] Yes, I’m tired and I’m quite sorry. You must know I had no intention of anything going in that direction. But, it’s pretty safe in there if not a little bit messy. And again, I, we, do apologize. What was the whole deal with Blisternose? It seemed, it seemed that he was new to the seat of power among you.
Dax (as Griswold): Ehhh, we met him a while ago and he seemed to have some good ideas for the group. He was the only one willing to take on a leadership position, so we, we let him. You know, looking back, I mean, he kind of asked for a little bit more than we were willing to give I think. So I, I think it kind of works out for the better, doesn’t it? But um, yeah it was, it was a little weird in there. I was not expecting my day to go this way. But we, we won’t be seeing you three again, will we?
Kappa (as Rou): Hopefully not. I mean, I would love to come back and have a much nicer conversation. Maybe some lunch or something, sometime, but -
Dax (as Griswold): Eeehhhhhh. I think it’s best if you just move along.
Kappa (as Rou): Fair! Very fair. Very fair. There are no more plans to continue the drumming, right? There was no actual spirit issue, was there?
Dax (as Griswold): Not as far as we know.
Dax: Griswold kind of like shrugs.
Dax (as Griswold): We were just told that if we were to do it, it would keep bad spirits away. And for a while, I mean everything seemed to be on the up and up. And then things kind of… plateaued. So I don’t know. I guess, I guess we’ll see. If spirits come, we’re going to pick up the drumming.
Dax: He shrugs again.
Kappa (as Rou): If I may offer a solution to this, if you do come across any malevolent spectral activity, there’s a village southwest of here. You can ask them for help. They are your neighbors and if you work together to solve your problems, you could avoid getting in each other’s way.
Dax: Griswold shakes his head a little bit.
Dax (as Griswold): Well, I’ll think about it.
Kappa (as Rou): They’re very nice people. Well Griswold, it was, I wish we met under more friendly circumstances. I, again, truly sorry.
Kappa: And I will start to back away, not backwards, but like you know, step back to be ready to go.
Dax: Griswold will just watch you go. Waiting, to make sure you actually go.
Kappa: [whispers] I come back with my sword.
Dax: [whispers] Oh my god!
[Kappa laughs]
Wren: As I turn to leave, I simply say to Griswold,
Wren (as Eight): I wish you and your fellow cave-dwelling friends nothing but good spirits in the future.
Wren: And I will follow after Rou.
Dax: Arthas? Do you say anything as you go?
Neil: No, I don’t.
Dax: Arthas, as you head off, all you hear is,
Dax (as Griswold): Maybe next time don’t throw rocks blindly. They hurt.
Neil (as Arthas): You’ll know to try it sometime.
Dax: Arthas still stuck on the kick of ‘eh, it works. You just need to practice at it.’
Neil: It does!
Wren: Realistically, if in a global sense it worked this time too.
Dax: It’s about mid-afternoon. Not quite dinner time by the time y’all get back to Springpoint. You can see people are still milling about. But not in the ‘we’re trying to get through our daily lives’. People seem to be chattering very happily. They seem to be almost celebrating. When people spy you coming back towards the village, you start to hear cheering. People rush out of the village to come and greet you on the road. People are trying to shake your hands, they’re thanking you, they’re praising you. Mayor Fry walks up to the group of you and extends a hand with a heavy pouch.
Dax (as Mayor Fry): Hundred gold, just as I promised. You seemed to have stopped the drumming.
Kappa: In this whole walk up, I’m very sheepishly, there’s a polite smile but sheepishly accepting the handshakes and getting patted on the back and just kind of like,
Kappa (as Rou): Ooo, oh, it’s, yes thank you. Thank you, you’re welcome.
Kappa: Who, who is Fry giving the pouch to?
Dax: He’s just extending it out to the group of you, waiting to see who will take it.
Kappa: I guess I’ll, I’ll grab it.
Kappa (as Rou): Oh, uh, yes. Almost forgot about this. You’re, you’re, you’re welcome. I feel like we should tell you something about the area on the map that was unexplored.
Kappa: Look over at Eight and Arthas.
Kappa (as Rou): Um, you have neighbors! In that area. They seem very nice, it’s just a lapse in communication. They, they are these little green people. They have their own way of life, they, again, like I said, they are your neighbors. You share this area and location. My suggestion to avoid any more unpleasantness is to just communicate with them. If you require help, maybe ask them.
Dax: Mayor Fry looks around at his constituents, I guess.
Dax (as Mayor Fry): Alright. I, as long as they don’t come causing trouble, we won’t bother them.
Kappa (as Rou): Well, that’s also, that’s a bit on you because if you end up causing trouble for them, they might react the same way that you do. That you would. So, please? So we don’t have to come back, try a little bit of neighborly good.
Dax: He nods.
Dax (as Mayor Fry): I think that’s, that’s fair. I do believe we also offered you free laundry. We have a… a home you could stay in for the night if you wish. Get you some food. Get your clothes cleaned up. You can stop smelling like the sulfur pools.
Kappa (as Rou): I would appreciate that very much. Eight, Arthas. Are you okay staying here for the night? Resting up? I know I could use it. But I’m also okay moving on.
Wren (as Eight): I find the proposal very acceptable. I believe my cloth wrap could deal with a good wash.
Wren: Just like holding it up, it’s like stiff and starchy from like weeks of not being cleaned at all.
Neil (as Arthas): You won’t hear me complaining.
Dax: And I will ask, is there anything you wanted to accomplish in this village before you move on the next day?
Kappa: No, just the clean. Rest up. Move on.
Dax: Okay. You are fed and fattened to the best of the villagers’ ability. You are offered a warm, cozy place to rest for the night. The next day, your clothes are returned to you. Freshly laundered and smelling like an autumn breeze. You head out of the village of Springpoint and by the end of the day, you come to a crossroads. The crossroads has a single signpost that says, if you head to the west, you will run into Verrain. To the east is Rook’s Reach, and to the south is Ravenspire.
Wren: I wonder where we’ll go next.
Dax: And that is where we are going to end our session.
