Two months have passed since Eight and Rou ran into Pax, following the survivors to the home of Liam Renwick. Since then, they have been busy gathering ingredients for a transportation spell Liam has agreed to perform for them. On one such errand, they ran into Latheriel, a human looking for bodyguards as they travel through woods rumored to be filled with brigands.
During their trek, Latherial and Rou teach Eight about the nuances of secrets, the wonders and versatility of a baked potato, and Bessie gets her first meal ever.
