Eight’s accident brings another memory to the surface.
When the noise in the street is found to be a Bronze Bruiser poking around, Trix suggests it’s time for bed so they don't risk making noise. The next morning, Eight prepares breakfast before the group sets out for the day. They decide they’ll take care of Trix’s job before finding someone from leadership for more details on the creature.
Trix leads them to a bar by the docks and takes a seat toward the back to await their contact. As part of the secret communications that occur in the bar, Trix is served rusty water whereas Eight and Rou are provided cheap liquor. Trix is only able to warn Rou not to actually consume the beverage, as Eight drinks it too quickly. When Trix’s contact arrives, the exchange nearly fails when Eight’s drunken inquiries make the contact suspicious.
They head to the post office looking for a leadership notice, something that hangs in many of the government buildings in Baukoran towns. As they wander the streets, Eight’s muddled senses lead them to walk into a horse watering trough. While they are under the water another memory surfaces.
