Zero’s creative solution fails them when they attempt to deal with The Beast, while Rou and Trix make their way into the dungeon. When Rou attempts diplomacy, the party is surprised by the result.

Trix leads Rou through the halls toward where they believe the dungeon, and subsequently Zero and the children, might be. The pair successfully avoid guards and find themselves halted by a pair of locked doors. Trix is able to pick the lock on one but the other proves to be more of a challenge. Deciding they have a 50/50 chance, they head down the hallway and hope for the best.
Meanwhile, Zero realizes that there are levers on the wall and tasks Cela with activating them while they deal with the sleeping beast. Sneaking up on the creature, they summon a sword into their hand and attempt to pierce the pebbly, stony flesh. While they’re able to injure it, the last thing Zero sees is a massive fist hurtling toward their face when the creature cries out in pain. Trix and Rou arrive to find the beast standing over Eight and Cela.
